The Mechanism of Associative Learning

This simulation demonstrates Hebbian learning, the foundational principle of neural plasticity. When pre-synaptic and post-synaptic neurons activate simultaneously (or in close succession), the connection between them strengthens (Long-Term Potentiation). Conversely, connections that fail to synchronize weaken.

🔗 Association: Repeated simultaneous activation builds strong pathways.
📈 Facilitation: Strengthened pathways make future activation easier.
🧠 Memory: Information is stored in the pattern of synaptic weights.
