Supporting high-risk, early-stage ideas in neural circuit analysis and neuroengineering.

Program Overview

The goal of this program is to provide funding to faculty who study the function of neural circuits using techniques such as neurophysiology, neuromodulation, in vivo optogenetics, fiber photometry, miniscopes, and other cutting-edge approaches. The funding will support early-stage research that has not yet received federal funding (R01 or equivalent).

Eligibility

Applications are welcome from UAB faculty members who are actively involved in research related to in vivo neural circuit analysis or neuroengineering topics. Specifically, this RFA is open to:
